Remember When

SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA LOOK BACK
Remember when your body and mind was over taken with excitement and the thrill of seeing or hearing from "your squeeze" as my CuzSis says. In simple terms I am speaking about the person you are dating, have feelings for, are curious about, eager to get to know, excited to be around, on full speed when the phone rings and their name pops up. You know what i am talking about; relationship - courtship - marriage - friends with benefits - an old crush, anyone that makes your adrenaline rise at the thought of them. Does that rush last or is there and expiration date?
Some may wonder why i asked "if you remember when" and the answer is pretty simple, because it's easy for people to forget the love that they share when a bump in the road arises or when the honeymoon stage ends.
Time and circumstance can often affect relationships like a Tornado. Most of the times many of us can see the storm brewing in the skies and feel the change in the air around us and yet we allow it to wreck havoc in our lives and in our everyday dealings by ignoring the show tell signs.
I am no expert at relationships i am only a participant and i can only speak from experience and the experiences of others that i have been exposed too. So in having good intentions for you I will share a few words on my thoughts around the whole thing because sharing is caring and someone else's learning may be the relief that you need to get through your confusion. Ultimately we want more relationships that last rather than to fall apart due to the lack of something. I always say "If we know better we do better".
Grown Folks ASK YOURSELF
How many of you remember what made you love your mate in the first place?
Is that component still an active part of your relationship?
Did you leave time to get to know one another before you added children into the equation? If not be prepared that your focus will now be with the children you have made. They become top priority and with parenthood people do change.
If you have a significant other are you growing with them? or have you outgrown them?
Are you dating a person with no hold to them? If yes, why would you do that to yourself?
Is your communication with your other half transparent or do you feel like you are running through a maze to find answers?
Is there a question burning inside of you that you want to ask but you won't?
Is there basic understanding in your relationship? Can you talk to one another openly?
Are you seeking growth within yourself? What do you want?
Babies NEW to The Game
If you are at the age where you are starting to date or feel like you are ready to date here are a few tips for you young ones:
Value yourself - if you don't others wont!
People are not possessions - people will come in and out of your life in different season for different reasons, learn from them and move on.
Feed people with the same spoon you want to eat from - You can't dish out spoiled milk and expect it not to curdle.
Get to know a little more about yourself before you add anyone to the equation.
It's okay to be single, it's okay to be choosy, it's okay to value yourself enough to wait.
Make your time count, live life, be smart, learn from others mishaps, be patient with yourself.
A few show tell signs that you should move on
Sudden change in day to day behavior.
Non responsive to communication or the inability to communicate.
Secretive.
People that show you they do not care.
If they lie they will steal.
Their entire being is fake, a fraud, a fake friend, a cheating lover.
They lead with excuses.
They do not show any interest in what is important to you.
They invest nothing.
They are selfish.
So please everyone make sure that you surround yourself with those people that are worth your time and worth your energy because as i always say " Time waits for no man". Live life and be happy with who you are and who you allow in your life. Never play Second fiddle.
Sometimes you gotta just let go of the nothing that your holding onto.
Peace and Blessings
